Reba inducts Suzy
90's Trailblazer Suzy Bogguss is now the 235th member of The Grand Ole Opry. Bogguss gave us a string of hits like 'Hey Cinderella' 'Drive South' 'Aces' 'Outbound Plane' 'Someday Soon' and 'Letting Go'. A familiar voice on Country Radio in the 90s, she's continued to record music through the years with success in Jazz, Western Swing, Classic Country, Americana and Folk. On Jan. 16, 2026 Reba McEntire formally inducted Suzy Bogguss as the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry Family. In addition to Reba, who was actually celebrating her 40th anniversary as an Opry member that night, Suzy's friends Kathy Mattea, Terri Clark and Steve Wariner joined in the celebration.
Suzy Bogguss has had a fun few years! In October, her friend Kathy Mattea invited her to be the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry, on the same night she was inducted. This was a first in Country Music History- to have an induction and invitation on the same night. Suzy Bogguss has stayed active touring, recording and writing songs for an independent film, 'Everything Fun You Could Possibly Do in Aledo, Illinois'. Furthermore, a cameo in the Hallmark Channel's 'A Grand Ole Opry Christmas' movie, launching a cookbook of Soup Recipes and hosting her ever-popular 'Wine Down Wednesday' - a social media feature she has continued since the Pandemic.
Suzy will grace the stage of the Cohoes Music Hall in Cohoes, NY on Thursday, May 28, 2026 as the next guest in our 'Close-Up' series, click here for more information. It's time to download some Suzy Bogguss albums and discover more of her great material, beyond the radio hits.
