The gun went off and injured an employee
On Saturday a person wearing a mask walked into Food Circus on 112th Street in Troy. He walked behind the counter and began throwing items at the owner, then flashed a flare gun.
The thief attempted to open the cash register, but it's not clear how much or if any money was taken.
The owner's son tried to wrestle the thief to the ground, that's when the flare gun went off.
NewsChannel 13 reports Troy Police arrested a 15 year old boy for the attempted robbery. His name is not being released due to his age. Police say the matter will be handled in family court.
