Jason and Kay Pierce, longtime owners of the Savoy Taproom and The Copper Crow in Albany, have announced they are selling both businesses. The Pierces purchased the Savoy in 2015, when it was still operating as Justin’s, and reopened it under its original name after extensive renovations. Jason Pierce tells NewsChannel 13:
By the time we came along in 2015 Justin’s was pretty run down. We came in and tore it up… We kept enough of the place to make it seem comfortable and familiar and the rest we updated.
The couple later opened The Copper Crow in 2020 with the goal of bringing “a modern New York City warehouse vibe to downtown Albany.” Pierce said, “We had lofty goals... and in a short number of years we crushed them.”
