A large presence of first responders is on scene at a power plant
There was an explosion at the Mount Ida Hydro Plant in Troy Tuesday morning. Assistant Police Chief Steven Barker told the Times Union the injuries were the result of an electrocution.
An anonymous source told the paper two people suffered severe burns and was taken to the burn unit at Upstate University Hospital, while the third was taken to Albany Med. The source said the three were working on a transformer at the time of the incident.
The plant is located near the Poestenkill Gorge.
