Schenectady is gearing up for one of its most anticipated holiday traditions as the 56th Annual Schenectady County Holiday Parade returns on Saturday, November 22, 2025, once again shutting down State Street and lighting up downtown. Recognized as the Northeast’s largest nighttime parade, the event invites businesses, community groups, and organizations to bring their festive spirit and creative energy to life with dazzling floats and 45-second performances in front of the iconic Proctors Theatre. Parade organizers announced via Facebook that applications are officially open—but don’t wait too long, as the deadline to apply is October 31. Whether you’re marching or spectating, this beloved celebration is sure to kick off the holiday season in grand style.
