HS Roundup: 12 teams heading to State Semifinals

After winning their Regional Finals, 12 local teams will play for a chance at a state title this weekend

After the dust settled with Monday's rescheduled Softball Regional Finals down in Central Valley, 12 teams from Section 2 will be playing in this upcoming weekend's State Semifinals in four different sports.  This doesn't include Columbia's flag football team, who made it to the State Semifinals this past weekend.

SOFTBALL

Five teams will represent Section 2 in Friday's State Semifinals to be played at Greenlight Networks Grand Slam Park in Binghamton.  Should teams advance, the Championships will be on Saturday.

All games will be streamed on the NFHS Network for a fee.

BASEBALL

Four of Section 2's 6 teams will be in the State Semifinals in baseball, to be played at various sites in the Binghamton region.  Should Section 2's teams advance, the finals will be Saturday.

BOYS LACROSSE

Burnt Hills is the lone team remaining of the four boys lacrosse teams in Section 2, and will play in the West Semifinals against Section 3's Jamesville-Dewitt at SUNY Cortland at 4PM on Wednesday, June 11th. They will play on White Field.  

If Burnt Hills wins, they would advance to the State Championship to be held at Hobart & William Smith Colleges in the Finger Lakes region of Geneva.  The Class C Championship would be Saturday, June 14th at 10AM against the winner of Somers and Maine-Endwell.  

GIRLS LACROSSE

Section 2 did not come up empty this year in the Regional Finals at Queensbury High School, as two teams of four punched their tickets to the State Semifinals to be held at SUNY Cortland on Friday.  If they win, the championships would be Saturday, also at SUNY Cortland.
