Double check your prescriptions.
News 10 reports the CVS Pharmacy at 1170 Western Avenue will be closing permanently at 885 Central Avenue in Albany. It's final day is December 12.
A CVS spokesperson said there were several factors in deciding to close the store:
local market dynamics, population shifts, a community’s store density, and ensuring there are other geographic access points to meet the needs of the community.
According to the spokesperson, all current employees will be offered jobs at other locations. As for prescriptions, they can be transferred to the CVS at 885 Central Avenue in Albany.
CVS has been downsizing in recent years across the country. Stores in Troy and Schenectady have also closed recently.
