Amazon Sellers See Increase in Scam Returns

Having a scam-free experience through Amazon is still not a sure thing.
According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, sellers on the retail site have been "plagued by a surge in scam returns."
Apparently, vendors are getting junk items instead of original items when receiving returned packages.
Statistics from the National Retail Federation show that 13.7% of Amazon returns for last year were fraudulent.
In what ways can someone avoid being scammed on Amazon? What is an instance where you received something opposite to what you ordered on Amazon? What is the weirdest thing you have received from Amazon?
