What's Your Favorite Country Song? Cody Johnson sings mine!

We all have a 'current' favorite Country Song.  When I'm asked lately about my favorite Country Song, I immediately think of Cody Johnson's 'Til You Can't'.  In my humble opinion, the song is perfection- from lyrics to production, and vocals to arrangement.  Of course, I've always had a rotating list a mile long of 'current' favorite Country Songs, but as of today, this is my answer!

I've heard people say that Cody Johnson is this generation's George Strait, and I'd have to say that comparison is right on!  According to People Magazine, the song, which was written by Ben Stennis and Matt Rogers, has changed Cody's own life.  Cody told People:  "It gave me a new perspective of, I'm only here for a little while," he says. "I've got to do the things that matter. Spend time with your wife, spend time with your kids, push your career, do it while you're here. Don't wait for the next chapter. Make the next chapter."

The song, with just the right touch of steal guitar and signature country drive, is loaded with stand-out 'Lyrics to Live By'- from "If You've Got A Dream, Chase It" to "Take That Phone Call From Your Mama"- to the direct "Cause, Hey, You Never Know".  As we sail through this fast-paced crazy life of ups and downs, we need gentle reminders like this- and what a perfect song to bring the message to us all. The 2021 hit even won a CMA and Grammy Award, and should join the ranks of timeless classics.
