Anne Murray To Be Honored At The Grand Ole Opry

Anne Murray stepped away from performing around 2008.  Since then, I had hoped that her contributions to Country Music would not be lost, as she is a worthy contender to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame one day!  I was happy to hear that unreleased music was being issued around her 80th birthday, and now her music is back in the spotlight on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry.  Long overdue, the Opry will host an all-star tribute to Anne Murray on October 27, 2025. The night will feature Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, k.d. lang, Kathy Mattea, Lorrie Morgan, Pam Tillis, Larry Gatlin and The Gatlin Brothers, Natalie Grant, Michelle Wright, Shenandoah, Collin Raye and Victoria Shaw, with appearances by Brenda Lee and Randy Travis.

Anne's contributions to the world of music reach way beyond Country Music- much like that of her crossover peers Kenny Rogers, Ronnie Milsap and Glen Campbell. As with her aforementioned counterparts, her music actually brought more people to our genre!  Anne Murray's Country credits include 'Snowbird' 'You Needed Me' 'Could I Have This Dance' 'Now and Forever' 'Shadows In The Moonlight' 'Just Another Woman In Love', the CMA's 1984 Album & Single Of The Year 'A Little Good News', and the 1985 CMA Vocal Duo Of The Year "Nobody Loves Me Like You Do" with Dave Loggins.
