The upscale restaurant is 'closed indefinitely'
Sad news for foodies and local mall-goers in the Albany area: The Standard Restaurant & Lounge, a long-time favorite at Crossgates Mall, has closed its doors abruptly. For years, The Standard has been a go-to spot for those looking for a taste of upscale American cuisine in the heart of one of New York's largest shopping centers.
According to a report from the Times Union, a sign posted on the door says the closure is due to a 'mechanical issue'. In an email exchange with the paper, owner Chris Stamatakos said he and his team are contemplating their next move:
We are in the process of determining what our next step is. We care deeply about our staff and customers and are working to make a decision in the near future.
Online ordering via The Standard website has been disabled, but says it will return at 1pm on February 2nd.
