A new way to library
Troy Middle School in Troy, NY, is celebrating National School Library Month by introducing an Audiobook Café program funded by a grant. The program, led by library media specialist Jen Mitchell, offers portable mp3 audiobook players called Playaways for student checkout. The initiative aims to keep students engaged in reading as they transition to middle and high school. In October, select students will be invited to the library for an Audiobook Café experience, where they can listen to audiobooks and enjoy snacks together.
