Traffic is at a stand still
Update 2:42pm: All lanes have been reopened, residual delays remain from Exit 7 to the Twin Bridges.
Update 2:09pm: Traffic is now moving, there are still some delays northbound at the Twin Bridges as the right lane remains closed.
Update 1:56pm: Two lanes of traffic are now open, police are slowly letting drivers back onto the Northway northbound from Exit 7.
Update 1:49pm: Traffic heading westbound on Alternate Route 7 is bein re-routed to Route 9.
Update 1:46pm: Police are still routing northbound traffic onto exit 7 to route 9.
Update 1:37pm: Two lanes remained closed at the Twin Bridges, the left lane has been reopened. Still major delays both north and southbound between exits 7 and 8.
An accident with numerous vehicles is causing major delays on the Northway. It happened northbound on the Twin Bridges around 12:15. Surrounding streets in the area are also congested - expect delays around Route 7, Alternate 7 and Route 9. No word from the DOT on when the lanes will reopen.
