Albany nonprofit honored on national TV for community impact.
On Thursday, March 27, Tracie Killar, founder and CEO of the South End Children’s Cafe, was featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show. During her appearance, Killar shared the story of how the cafe began in November 2015 and how, in just over a decade, it has served more than 300,000 meals while making a lasting impact in the Albany community.
The segment came with a few special surprises. Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan officially declared March 27 as South End Children’s Cafe Day, and ConAgra generously donated $10,000 to support the organization’s mission.
The South End Children’s Cafe is located at 33 Rensselaer Street in Albany. To learn more or make a donation, visit southendchildrenscafe.org.
