The official tree lighting is December 3, but you can be a part of its historic journey!
The 2025 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is making history right here in East Greenbush, NY — and you can watch the moment it’s cut and begins its journey to New York City!
The massive tree will be cut down on Thursday, November 6th at 8:00 AM at 60 Old Red Mill Road, and the public is invited to attend. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime event for the Capital Region as East Greenbush takes the national spotlight.
What to Know Before You Go:

Road Closures: Upper Old Red Mill Road will close to all traffic (except residents) starting at 5:00 AM and will reopen once the tree is on its way.

Where to Park: Spectator parking is available along the east side of Temple Lane and in the lower parking lot of the Rensselaer County Office Building at 99 Troy Road.

Safety Tips: Use caution crossing Route 151 and follow all directions from law enforcement on scene.
After the cutting, the tree will be escorted from East Greenbush, traveling south on Route 4, east on Routes 9 & 20, and then entering I-90 at Exit 10 for its trip to Rockefeller Center.
