The FBI says the alleged plot was stopped before a bomb could be detonated.
This is the kind of story that hits differently when you live and work in the Capital Region. The FBI an Albany woman as she was allegedly planning to bomb the New York State Capitol Building in an ISIS-inspired attack.

35 year old Jessica Bowie was arrested Wednesday after investigators say she got her hands on what she believed was an explosive device. The FBI says she cased the building on several occasions getting ready for the plot. Reports are she wanted to kill as many senators as possible and then flee to Syria to join ISIS.

The FBI held a press conference Thursday to discuss the details of the plot.
Governor Hochul released a statement on the plot, expressing her gratitude to the investigators.
