See it at the New York State Tree Lighting and Fireworks celebration on Sunday, December 8!
Once standing proudly at the end of their driveway, the Morehouse family of Ballston Lake has generously donated the holiday tree that will be the centerpiece of this year’s Empire State Plaza holiday celebrations. On Tuesday, crews from the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) carefully cut down the towering tree and transported it to Albany, where it will be prominently displayed and adorned with festive decorations. The tree will be officially illuminated during the highly anticipated New York State Tree Lighting and Fireworks celebration on Sunday, December 8. The free event will take place from noon to 8 p.m., with the tree lighting and a spectacular fireworks display scheduled for 5:15 p.m.
In addition to the stunning tree lighting, the event promises an exciting array of activities for all ages. Visitors can enjoy live music performances, thrilling ice-skating exhibitions, and a special appearance by Santa Claus, adding to the festive atmosphere. This beloved holiday tradition offers families the perfect way to kick off the season with entertainment, seasonal cheer, and a sense of community spirit. With its enchanting decorations and vibrant festivities, the Empire State Plaza holiday celebration is sure to create lasting memories for those who attend.
