For generations, Hoffman's Playland was a must-go spot for Capital Region families. Even visitors, like superstar singer Sheryl Crow, stopped by for a day of fun back in August of 2014.

After more than 60 years, Hoffman's closed for good in 2014. Most of the rides went to what is now Huck Finn's Playland in Albany's Warehouse District.
Still, many relics of the amusement park remain, even twelve years after its last ride. There have been plans to redevelop the property over the years, but legal wrangling and red tap have stalled any efforts.
In September 2026, YouTuber IceBergFilms took a walk around the property. In his exploration, he finds the amusement park is far from forgotten.
