Expected to open late summer
Crossgates announced Monday that the big bookseller Barnes & Noble will be opening a new store at the mall in 2026. Its location will be on the upper level next to REI. Crossgates general manager Jen Smith said in a press release:
This renowned bookseller is a perfect addition to our diverse mix of retail and entertainment brands, and we know it will become a beloved destination for book lovers throughout the Capital Region.
In addition to books, the store will have a cafe and feature educational programs, author signings, book clubs and a sizeable selection of music on vinyl.
There's no exact date for the grand opening, but the mall says they expect Barnes & Noble to be up and running later this summer.
